The TravelSim Waratahs will look to bounce back from a difficult round against the Students when they take on Fairfield-Liverpool in the first two-day fixture of the season. First, third and fifth grade will spend the next month on the road out at Fairfield and Campbelltown, meaning the next month will go along way to determining the success of the year to come.
In first grade, the experienced Cameron Merchant returns from injury to stregthen the batting line-up further, while in second grade Sam Webber will captain the side in the absence of Rowan Hamman. Joe Graham has also been promoted to make his debut in 2’s with the unavailability of Dylan Marshall. Third grade have a few new faces after a dismal performance last week, with U17’s representative’s Jack Edwards and Aidan Bariol returning to strengthen the ‘main grade’ along with Jordan Daly who has returned from his around-the-world adventure, and Will Outred who made a half-century in fourth grade last week.
Club captain Billy D’Arcy returns to fourth grade after his brief hiatus along with James Crombie, Ash Virdi and James Boyer who come down from third grade to strengthen Max Burgess’s side. Finally, fifth grade only has one change in Sam Kelly who will wicket-keep ahead of Will Ackhurst, who will now however play as a fast-bowler!
So a critical round awaits for the TravelSim Waratahs as they look to get season 2015/16 back on track. Good luck to all the grades and lets bring some points back home from our travels out west!
