Waratahs sponsor 4 Pines Brewing Company announces 3 new Northern Beaches venues

4 Pines brewer Garrett Sherman with executive chef Rob de Paulo
As if you didn’t know it already, but our great friends at 4 Pines Brewing Company are once again proving themselves to be one of the most progressive small businesses on the Northern Beaches with the announcement of 3 brand new venues.

Joining the original Manly brewpub and the recently opened Brookvale Truck Bar will be brand new hangouts at Belrose, Newport and below the original brewpub in Manly.

The new venue at Belrose will open in the Glen St Theatre. It will focus on a beer and bread concept and be opening sometime in early 2017.

The art of bread making is actually not a huge stretch from beer making. 4 Pines recognised this years ago and have had their own stout bread at the Manly brewpub since 2010. As well as selling fresh bread daily, you’ll be able to pop into 4 Pines Belrose for a drink and dinner pre or post theatre, a mid-week lunch, a quick coffee while the kids are at sports practice over at Lionel Watts Oval, or of course a guilt free pint. This great new venture will be open seven days a week from brunch to dinner.

Due to open sometime in Spring 2016, a new eatery will be opening up directly below 4 Pines in Manly, replacing the old Out of Africa restaurant. This will be a step away from the pub focus upstairs and will be more of a traditional eatery, although it will still be run by long time 4 Pines Executive chef Rob de Paulo. Many of these dishes have been trialled successfully at the brewpub and have already been proven to be winners.

And finally we have probably the most exciting of the concepts, a beer barrelhouse in Newport. Barrel-aged beer was never part of any strategic plan but brewer Garrett Sherman’s sheer willpower and passion to get this over the line meant it was a perfect little venture. 4 Pines have been tinkering around with recipes over the last few years and the experimentation is now becoming a permanent feature on 4 Pines venue list. Craft beer lovers can now sample beers that have been aged from six to 24 months.

This fits in nicely with the village feel that has been created at Newport over the last decade or so. The Newport Barrelhouse will be opening sometime early in the coming summer.

One of the best parts of the expansion is the fact that 4 Pines are keeping their footprint to the Northern Beaches. 4 Pines Cheif of Hospitality Ged Dore, who is leading the venue openings, explained it very simply.

“We looked at various opportunities, but it felt right for us to stay local and concentrate on what we do best.”

Can’t argue with that. We think that the new ventures are going to be huge and something everyone should get behind. They will not only create over 100 new jobs but also cement 4 Pines as a leader in the craft beer and hospitality industries.
