Waratahs confirm Women’s Captains in Historic Season

The Raydel Manly Warringah Waratahs are pleased to announce the Women’s Premier Cricket Captains for their historic 2021/22 season.

As was previously announced when it was confirmed that the Waratahs will be entering a first grade side in the Women’s competition for 2021/22, Mikalea Turik will be our first Women’s 1st Grade captain since Merrilynne Smith in 1983/84.

After an extremely successful season in 2020/21, where Mikalea led the 2s side to a premiership, as well as being announced the SCA 2nd Grade captain of the year, Mikalea is the perfect choice to lead 1st Grade in a new era of Women’s Cricket at Manly.

Mikalea and 1st Grade will look to make a statement in their first season in the top grade, and will be a serious contender in the competition.

With Mikalea moving up to 1st Grade, the extremely talented and respected Nat Guyot will be taking the reigns in 2nd Grade for 2021/22.

Nat has a wealth of experience in our Women’s program and steps up after leading Brewer Shield last year. A fantastic batter who will look to lead from the front, Nat is a well respected figure in the playing group and will do an excellent job.

Mia Nel has shown how good a cricketer she is, and this season she’ll get to show everyone how good a leader she is with her appointment as our Brewer Shield skipper for 2021/22.

Mia is an explosive bat and handy with the ball and will look to let her actions do the talking as Brewers aim for another finals spot.

The 3rd Grade Womens Captain is yet to be determined.

Congratulations to Mikalea, Nat and Mia on your appointments, and good luck for the upcoming season.
